Awesome level of tones you've got here. What a delicious value range. As for the subject matter... eh.

But it's a highly skillful drawing. I think you even captured a level of lifelessness in the rendering that really says "I'm not a real dog, I'm just a statue." So, good work.

thanks for the feedback guys I appreciate you taking the time to comment. mr. mac- any suggestions on interesting still life subject matter? i didn't have a choice on this one since it was in class, but i am curious about what kinds of objects are interesting enough to draw and hold viewers' attention.

Sweet... If you're doing a still life, I think it's really more the composition than the items themselves. Pick subjects that are interesting to you. Look for things with a good visual balance, whether in tone or texture.

Look at some of  waheednasir's work with still life. He's a painter in more traditional media, but it's good stuff.
